Reparations for people repressed when fighting for Poland’s independence

A member of the Home Army, repressed for independence activities by NKVD, was killed in 1948 in the territory of Belarus, a dozen kilometres from the new Polish border. He fought in the same place where he was born and where he lived. However, his family is not entitled to reparations, because the soldier was not in Poland at the moment of death. The Commissioner for Human Rights contacted the Minister of Justice on that matter
