Training on the application of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union
The Director of the Constitutional, International and European Law Department at the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights, Mirosław Wróblewski, facilitated a training session on the application of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union for coordinators of the Charter of Fundamental Rights appointed by the Managing Institutions.
The training served as an introduction to the development of information material and a draft study to support the implementation of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. During the meeting, the guests were able to share their expectations, needs and concerns regarding the application of the Charter in the management of European funds.
The exchange of good practices and dialogue contributed to the drafting of a checklist on the compliance of the institution's activities with the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights (implementation of EU funds)
The meeting was held within the framework of the project ‘Support of National Human Rights Institutions in Monitoring Fundamental Rights and Related Aspects of the Rule of Law’ implemented by the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights and other project beneficiaries with the lead partner - the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA), financed by the EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Regional Cooperation. The project aims to strengthen the role of national human rights bodies in the promotion and protection of fundamental rights and the rule of law in selected grantee countries by providing them with advice and institutional support and enhancing their capacity in EU law, with a particular focus on the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union.
