Scope of activities
The scope of activities of the Bureau of the General Director covers the following:

  1.     Statistics and problem analysis of processed cases and the maintenance of the system for collection and making available the general issues examined by the Defender;
  2.     Drafting the annual information on the activity of the Defender and the observance of human and civil freedoms and rights;
  3.     Drafting the budget in Part 08 in terms of revenues and expenditure, financial management and ongoing control of appropriate budget performance;
  4.     Keeping the accounting books of the Office, pursuant to the Act on public finance and the Act on accounting;
  5.     Ensuring appropriate flow, recording and registration of documents in the Office;
  6.     Elaborating the office regulations and controlling their application;
  7.     Developing and updating the Regulations and other internal normative acts;
  8.     Cooperation with other statutory organisational units of the Office in terms of organisation, management and functioning of the Office;
  9.     Drafting the proposals for resolution of competence disputes between the statutory organisational units of the Office;
  10.     Human resources management;
  11.     Issues related to the organisation of trainings;
  12.     Calculation of salaries;
  13.     Public procurement proceedings;
  14.     Economic and technical services, administration and use of car fleet;
  15.     Health and safety at work;
  16.     Tasks related to ensuring compliance with regulations on classified information protection, stemming from the Act on the protection of classified information and implementing regulations to the Act;
  17.     Running the Office Archive;
  18.     Running the Office Outpatient Clinic;
  19.     Collection, preparation, storage and provision of access to library resources.
