Meeting with dr. Asma Jilani Jahangir

On January 29, 2014, the Office of the Ombudsman was hosting a meeting with dr. Asma Jilani Jahangir, a Pakistani lawyer and activist in the field of human rights protection.
During the meeting Ms Asma Jahangir presented current human rights situation in Pakistan and discussed challenges facing the local judiciary system. In particular she referred to the rights of women, children and religious minorities living in Pakistan.
The gathering was held on the occasion of awarding dr. Jahangir the Pro Dignitate Humana Award given annually by the Minister of Foreign Affairs as a sign of appreciation for the protection of rights of those oppressed and subjected to repression.
