Commissioner for Human Rights

Visit to the Office of the CHR by delegation of judges and prosecutors from EU member states

Date:

On 2 October 2024, the Commissioner for Human Rights' Office hosted once again a delegation of judges and prosecutors from EU member states as part of an exchange program organized by the National School of Judiciary and Public Prosecution in Kraków.
The meeting was devoted to the CHR's competences and the problems he is currently dealing with (rights of people with disabilities, the rule of law, surveillance by the secret services, etc.).
The purpose of the program is to exchange experiences related to the functioning of the judiciary and law enforcement agencies. Each year, as part of the program, its participants learn about the specifics of the functioning of various public institutions, including, among others, the Commissioner for Human Rights. The guests include judges and prosecutors from countries such as Spain, Italy, Greece, Romania, Germany, the United Kingdom and Bulgaria.
This year, the Office of the CHR hosted a delegation of judges and prosecutors from other countries three times: on 8 May, 11 September, and 2 October. The 11 September meeting was led by Adam Krzywoń, Director of the Constitutional, International and European Law Department. The other two meetings (8 May and 2 October) were conducted by Janusz Roszkiewicz, an expert in the same department.
