Using EU funds while respecting and promoting fundamental rights. Guide to the application of the new fundamental condition for compliance with the Charter
This guidance document "Using EU funds while respecting and promoting fundamental rights: A Guide to the Application of the New Fundamental Condition for Compliance with the Charter' presents the process of developing tools produced by the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights as part of a project to strengthen mechanisms for compliance with the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights when spending EU funds at national level, namely the handbook entitled – ‘Application of the Charter of Fundamental Rights in the course of implementation of projects financed by EU funds' and the Charter Compliance Checklist, which is an integral part of the handbook. This guide presents a set of key lessons and recommendations for design and implementation that can serve as an example for other policy makers interested in improving the implementation of international and EU law at national level.
