Report of the National Mechanism for the Prevention of Torture on ad hoc visits

National Mechanism for the Prevention of Torture issued a report on ad hoc visits to the rooms for detained persons or persons brought for sobering up within the units reporting to the Warsaw Police Headquarters and to the Voivodeship (i.e. Regional) Police Headquarters in Radom. The visits were of an ad-hoc nature, and their objective was to examine the situation of those detained by the police in connection with the protests which took place between 22 October and 13 December 2020 in connection with the Constitutional Tribunal judgment of 22 October 2020 in case no. K1/20 on the tightening of the legislation on abortion. In the reviewed period, a total of 21 visits were conducted.
