People with Disabilities

The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 13 December 2006, the Polish Government signed it on 20 March 2007 and the ratification of the Convention by Poland took place on 6 September 2012.
The objective of the Convention is to protect and guarantee the full and equal use of human rights and fundamental freedoms by persons with disabilities equally with all other citizens. Poland is committed to implement the standards of conduct included in the Convention in order to ensure that persons with disabilities exercise their rights.
