Deputy CHR Wojciech Brzozowski met with the OSCE Election Observation Mission
On September 12, 2024, Deputy Commissioner for Human Rights Wojciech Brzozowski received at the CHR Office a delegation of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) Election Observation Mission. The discussion focused on the implementation of the recommendations of the ODIHR Final Report on the parliamentary elections in Poland in 2023.
The delegation comprised head of the mission Douglas Wake and election advisors Ana Rusu and Martina Barker-Ciganikova.
The Election Observation Mission evaluates the election process for compliance with commitments to the OSCE and other international obligations and standards relating to democratic elections, as well as with national legislation.
In March 2024, the ODIHR final report on the 2023 parliamentary elections in Poland was published. Monitoring the implementation of the report's recommendations is a standard activity of the ODIHR in the post-election period. The delegation meets with representatives of various institutions to receive feedback on the degree of implementation of the report's recommendations. Discussions also focus on possible ways to improve the implementation of the recommendations and what various stakeholders can do in this regard.
