Deadlines for matriculation certificates in the context of studies in Denmark. Letters to the Danish Ombudsman, the Director of the Central Examination Commission and the Polish Embassy

Date:

In 2025, certificates of matriculation are to be issued in Poland on 8 July - meanwhile, the closing of enrolment in Denmark is on 5 July. This problem has been the subject of intervention by the Commissioner for Human Rights for two years. Marcin Wiącek in September presented the case to the Danish Parliamentary Ombudsman Niels Fenger. He asked him if people from other countries have also encountered such obstacles and whether he sees any possible action that could improve their situation.

In addition, the director of the Constitutional, International and European Law Department Adam Krzywoń wrote to the Director of the Central Examination Commission Robert Zakrzewski with regard to the possibility of early issuing of high school diplomas to those who apply for them - as was the case last year.
He also addressed the charge d'affaires of the Polish embassy in Copenhagen, Patryk Błaszczak, to ask whether he sees any possibility of taking measures that could improve the situation of graduates of Polish schools.

In response, the CKE said that it is not possible to introduce a procedure for the early issuing of certificates to those who make a duly justified request. During the work on the 2026 timetable, all possibilities will be explored to set deadlines in such a way that graduates can apply to universities in Denmark, among others, the CKE added.
