Commissioner for Human Rights participated in the general assemblies of GANHRI and ENNHRI
The Commissioner for Human Rights, Marcin Wiącek, participated in the general assemblies of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI) and the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions (ENNHRI), which took place at the turn of March and April in Geneva. Deputy Commissioner Adam Krzywoń also participated in the events.
This year's meetings focused on topics related to the protection of the rights of migrants, refugees, asylum seekers, internally displaced persons, and stateless persons.
In a issued statement, ENNHRI called on the member states of the Council of Europe to ensure that their future political declaration on migration respects and reaffirms the human rights of all people in Europe. At the same time, it must protect the integrity of the system, the independence of the European Court of Human Rights, and support the effective protection and universality of all rights defined in the European Convention on Human Rights.
On April 1, 2025, an annual conference accompanying the GANHRI General Assembly was also held, which was devoted to the role of national human rights institutions in promoting and protecting human rights in the digital space.
