Commissioner for Human Rights once again turned to the Minister of Health concerning the announcements of cessation of reimbursement for in vitro procedures. Such a decision means making the Act on infertility treatment ineffective. On the other hand, ensuring its enforcement is a constitutional duty of the Council of Ministers. The Act on infertility treatment sufficiently guarantees the application of also methods of infertility treatment other than in vitro. However, it should be taken into consideration that the in vitro method is, in many cases, the only effective method of infertility treatment.
